Alcarin Lore

It Won't Let On

It's a low profile, love defiled, down trodden tragedy
That I find myself in
I'm a lost black sheep, a back bay cheat, a crow against the night
And I'm three sheets to the wind

Every day is a re-run
The laugh track's gettin stale
Like passing ships without the sun
You'll never see my crimson sails

Love is never where you seek it
Intangeable when you reach it
So get in gear and forget
What your heart's set on
It may hear you coming
But it won't let on

It's a cryin shame she can't be blamed for being so damn blind
And I don't think it's fair
The stars don't bite like the big spotlights but they black out in the day
But we know they're still there

To ignore it is easy
But their masks are wearin thin
A strong swell on the open sea
Broods below and she's caught within

It's a life of ease with a lazy breeze and the sun shines every day
That she finds herself in
Yeah, her darkness fades with her dreamswept shades that lounge upon her face
And she's three sheets to the wind
